I Built a Desk

I’m setting up my office and I ordered a desk from Amazon that obviously needed to be built. I was excited when it came and couldn’t wait to get started. This used to be something Tom and I would have done together. We loved projects but, here I am doing it alone. I was excited to get started and still sad. It’s hard to not miss the times we would create things together but Alzheimer’s has stolen that from us. So, I’m building a desk, alone.

I built the desk and it came out great. Tom came in several times to see what was going on but, he had no idea what I was doing.

My point is this, if you are going through the same thing you are doing things on your own that you used to do together. It was hard for me to realize that I’m not alone and neither are you.

For me, the things I miss the most are having a conversation, we used to share everything and doing things together, projects, traveling, going to events.
